BSL Link for Communication is a Deaf led business established by Stewart Bailey, a profoundly Deaf, British Sign Language (BSL) user. From personal and professional experience, Stewart understands the importance for Deaf and hearing people, to have qualified Sign Language interpreters to ensure all interactions provide communication access between BSL and English.
All interpreters used by BSL Link for Communication are registered with the National Register of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD). As such they are committed to the NRCPD’s Code of Conduct and Guidelines of Professional Practice.
BSL Link for Communication aims to provide a high quality service to meet the communication needs required in each individual situation to include Health, Education, Legal, Social Services, Community, Theatre, Conference, Training and Office domains.
In addition to Sign Language Interpreters, we also provide Deafblind interpreters, Relay interpreters, Notetakers, Speech to Text reporters, Electronic Notetakers and Lipspeakers to ensure everybody, whether Deafened, Hard of Hearing or Profoundly Deaf, has equal access to communication.
BSL Link for Communication training is pleased to offer a range of accredited training courses throughout the year, including BSL Language courses up to Level 6 and the Signature Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting and Translation.
In addition, we offer CPD training for Interpreters and other Language Service Professionals and training for BSL teachers for BSL teachers. We aim to provide courses for all levels of sign language users, including those wanting to start their BSL learning with an Introduction Course or Level 1 and Level 2.
Due to the current situation with Covid 19 many of our shorter courses are being delivered online by our qualified trainers.
Our team of native and highly qualified BSL teachers and teacher trainers work collaboratively to create a range of relevant, interesting and valuable courses that support the required CPD for registered and trainee interpreters. Details of these courses are provided on our website as they become available.
